Balance Stock across Locations
The Balance Stock recommendation engine scans your locations and surfaces transfer suggestions based on your configured thresholds. You review the math, select the moves you want to make, and Alfred creates draft transfer sessions grouped by source-to-destination pair — one draft per pair. From there, you mark each draft Ready to Ship and walk it through the normal transfer lifecycle.
Bulk-rebalance from recommendations
RecommendedConfirm you have thresholds configured at the locations you want to rebalance. Without thresholds on both ends, no recommendations will appear.
Open Stock Transfers → Balance stock across Locations.
If inventory is stale, the page kicks off a background refresh automatically. Wait for it to complete (banner clears) or click 'Refresh inventory' to force a sync.
Apply filters as needed — source locations, destination locations, vendor, product type, collection, tag — to scope the recommendations to a specific area.
Review each recommendation: source, destination, recommended units, kind badge (Rebalance, Stockout, Emergency), and confidence score. Click the chevron on a row to expand the math.
Select rows with the checkboxes. Watch for the 'Already in draft' badge — selecting a row that's already drafted will create a duplicate.
Click 'Create transfer sessions from selection'. A preview modal opens grouped by source-to-destination pair.
Review the preview (one draft per pair, with totals) and confirm. Alfred creates the drafts in a single batch.
From the success modal, click 'Open first session' to start reviewing the new drafts — or return to the Balance page and open them later from the Stock Transfers hub.
For each draft, mark Ready to Ship, create shipments as units leave the origin, and receive each shipment at the destination.
Pro Tips
- 💡Toggle 'Include emergency moves' off if you only want safe rebalances. Emergency recommendations pull a source below its target to rescue a stockout — useful in a pinch, risky as a default.
- 💡Use the source and destination filters to focus on one lane at a time. Reviewing thirty recommendations on a single source-to-destination is easier than scanning thirty mixed lanes.
- 💡Click 'Refresh inventory' before a big bulk-create session if it's been a while. The recommendations are only as good as the inventory data behind them.
- 💡Check the suppressed-recommendations section at the bottom — it lists moves Alfred would have recommended but blocked because an in-flight transfer already covers the lane.
