Launch Scheduler

Scheduled Actions

Scheduled actions are the building blocks of a launch. Each action represents a specific Shopify store change — publishing a theme, activating products, updating prices, or toggling page visibility. Actions execute automatically at their scheduled time, with detailed status tracking and email alerts.

Key Concepts

Available Action Types

Alfred Launch Scheduler supports 11 action types for Shopify stores. Free plan includes theme activation and product status changes. Starter adds price changes, page visibility, and blog posts. Pro unlocks all remaining types including tags, metafields, navigation, channel availability, and discount codes.

Theme Activation

Publish a Shopify theme to your live store at a scheduled time. Select from your installed themes. Perfect for seasonal redesigns, campaign landing pages, or event-specific storefronts. Available on all plans.

Product Status Change

Change products between Active, Draft, and Archived states. Use a product picker to select specific items. Ideal for product drops — keep products in Draft until launch time, then flip to Active automatically.

Product Price Change

Bulk update product prices and compare-at prices. Set new prices individually or upload via CSV. Great for flash sales, seasonal pricing, or synchronized price increases across your Shopify catalog. Starter plan and above.

Advanced Actions (Pro)

Pro plan unlocks: product tag updates (add/remove tags for collection membership), metafield updates (custom data), navigation menu changes (add/remove links), product/collection channel availability (publish to sales channels), and discount code activation/deactivation.

How to Use

1

Add an Action to a Launch

Open a draft launch and click 'Add action'. The wizard opens with Step 1: select an action type. Locked types show the required plan. Click a type to proceed to Step 2: configuration.

2

Configure the Action

Each action type has its own configuration form. For theme activation, select a theme. For product status, pick products and set the target status. For price changes, enter new prices or upload a CSV. Set the execution time (date + time in the launch timezone).

3

Review & Save

Verify the action summary — what will change, when it will execute. Click Save to add it to the launch. You can edit or delete actions while the launch is in draft status.

Tips & Best Practices

  • For product drops: schedule product status → Active at your launch time, and theme activation 1 minute earlier so the landing page is ready.
  • Use the CSV upload for price changes when updating more than a few products — it's much faster than picking individually.
  • Tag updates are powerful for collection management — add a 'sale' tag to products at flash sale start, remove it when the sale ends (use two separate launches).
  • Test actions on a Shopify development store first. Use the 'Execute now' button in dev mode to verify results before scheduling on your live store.
  • Schedule actions with 1-minute gaps between them to avoid API rate limit issues on stores with many products.
