Managing Launches
The Launches dashboard is your command center for all scheduled storefront changes. Create launches for product drops, seasonal theme swaps, flash sales, or any coordinated set of Shopify store changes. Each launch groups multiple actions under one timeline with real-time status tracking.
Key Concepts
Launch Statuses
Launches flow through statuses: Draft (being configured), Scheduled (actions queued for execution), Active (actions currently executing), Completed (all actions finished), Failed (one or more actions failed), and Cancelled (manually stopped). The lifecycle bar on each launch shows the current stage.
Monthly Launch Quota
The Free plan includes 2 launches per month (counted by completion date). Starter and Pro plans have unlimited launches. The dashboard header shows your current usage. Quota resets on the 1st of each month.
Card & Table Views
Switch between card view (visual summary with status badges) and table view (compact list with sortable columns). Use the search bar and status filter to find specific launches.
How to Use
Create a New Launch
Click 'Create launch' in the top-right corner. Enter a descriptive title and select the timezone for this launch (defaults to your store setting). Click Create to open the launch detail page.
Configure Your Launch
On the launch detail page, add actions using the 'Add action' button. Each action has its own execution time within the launch. Edit the title, timezone, or alert settings at any time while in draft status.
Schedule the Launch
When all actions are configured, click 'Schedule launch' in the header. This queues all actions with Google Cloud Tasks for reliable, on-time execution. The launch status changes to 'Scheduled'.
Monitor & Manage
Track execution from the launch detail page. Each action shows its status (pending → queued → in progress → completed/failed). Receive email alerts for completions and failures. Cancel a scheduled launch at any time before actions begin.
Tips & Best Practices
- ✓Name launches descriptively — 'Summer 2026 Drop - June 15' is better than 'Launch 1' when you have dozens.
- ✓Use timezone settings per-launch if you coordinate drops across regions (e.g., midnight EST for US, midnight GMT for UK).
- ✓Schedule a test launch on a development store first to verify your actions work as expected before going live.
- ✓The card view is great for quick status checks; switch to table view when managing many launches.
